Senior Scientist
Computational Fluid Mechanics

Duties and responsibilities
Good knowledge of model development, testing, and implementation
Experience with CFD software (OpenFOAM, Ansys Fluent, AVL Fire)
Experience with CFD-DEM coupling methods
Develop and apply Eulerian and Lagrangian CFD methods on different length scales to simulate pharmaceutical manufacturing processes. These include:
Developing competence in fluid mechanics in a pharmaceutical context
Coupling of CFD methods to DEM powder modeling and molecular dynamics methods
Focus on pharmaceutical processes like hot-melt extrusion, spray drying, manufacturing of nano-particles, mixing of multiphase fluids, lyophilization
Develop and apply coarse-grained models for molecular dynamics
Setting up models for multiphase computational fluid dynamics simulations
Performing and analyzing multiphase computational fluid dynamics simulations
Leading the in-house CFD group
Identifying and seizing relevant business opportunities
Actively participating in project teams and scientific networks
Writing project reports and publishing research in reputed journals
Presenting results at internal meetings and international conferences
Requirements
A technical or natural scientific PhD degree
Interest in performing research at the interface of basic science and industrial application
Professional conduct and communication skills in dealing with international partners and colleagues

The annual gross salary for this position is EUR 61.600 to EUR 65.800, depending on relevant professional experience.
